Visit Istria by plane

Travelling by plane has its advantages; you will be mesmerized by the beauties and vivid colours of the Istrian peninsula at first sight. Make beautiful memories and use the best offered by bird's-eye view.
Croatia's largest peninsula has only one international airport, the Pula airport. The capacity of the airport is 1,000,000 passengers annually; the capacity of the new terminal, constructed in 1989, was based on the maximum expected traffic of 10 planes and 5,000 passengers at a time. The Pula airport is one of Croatia's 9 airports and is located only 5 km away from the city centre, which is easily accessible by taxi, bus or shuttle.
The Istrian county also has the small airport of Vrsar, which is used for tourist traffic of smaller planes, sports and excursion flights, but also the Medulin tourist airport, which can accepts smaller planes.
From late April to mid-October the Pula airport is used by many foreign airlines, such as SAS, JAT, KMW, Belavia and Rossija, as well as the low-cost airlines Ryanair, Germanwings and Norwegian Air Shuttle. At the same time, it is the destination of many charter flights, so during the summer, Istria is very well connected to the UK and Germany, but also some far away destinations such as Copenhagen, Oslo, Moscow and Kiev, via Pula.
After touching down in Istria, treat yourself to a stay in one if its many luxurious villas and apartments, which are far away enough from bustling cities, but close enough to stunning beaches.
